Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The OINP classifies their program under three headings which include several categories or streams each:

Foreign workers:
This gives foreign workers with a job offer in a skilled occupation at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC), the opportunity to apply to permanently live and work in Ontario. This stream is open to foreign workers in and outside of Canada.

International students
This category gives international students with a job offer in a skilled occupation at Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC), the opportunity to apply to permanently live and work in Ontario. This stream is open to international students in and outside of Canada.

In-Demand Skills
This category gives foreign workers with a job offer in specific in-demand occupations, such as in agriculture or construction, the opportunity to apply to permanently live and work in Ontario.
This stream is open to foreign workers in and outside of Canada.

Masters Graduates:
This category is for students who have graduated from a master’s degree program at an eligible publicly funded university in Ontario. Please note there is no requirement of a job offer under this category.

PhD Graduates
This category is for PhD graduates who have graduated from an eligible publicly funded university in Ontario. Please note there is no requirement of a job offer under this category.

The Ontario Express Entry categories:
– Ontario Human Capital Priorities:
This stream enables the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to nominate individuals who have qualified for Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC’s) Express Entry pool and who have the required education, skilled work experience, language ability, and other characteristics to help them successfully establish and integrate into Ontario’s labour market and
communities.

– Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker:
The Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is for French-Speaking skilled workers who have strong English language abilities and who want to live and work permanently in Ontario. This stream enables OINP to nominate individuals that have qualified for Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Express Entry pool and who have the required education, skilled work
experience, language ability, and other characteristics to help them successfully establish and integrate into Ontario’s labour market and communities.

– Ontario Skilled Trades Stream
This stream enables the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to nominate individuals that have qualified for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry pool and who have the skilled work experience, skilled trades’ certification (if required), language ability, and other characteristics to help them successfully establish and integrate into Ontario’s labour market and communities.

 

Corporate Stream
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s Corporate Stream helps and supports established international corporations looking to expand into Ontario or buy an existing business. Once the applicant’s business has been successfully established, a maximum of 5 key staff are eligible to apply for nomination that could lead to permanent resident status.

Entrepreneur Stream
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s Entrepreneur Stream is designed to support individuals from countries outside Canada who are looking to implement a new business initiative or buy an existing business in our province. The program offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to be nominated for permanent resident status once their new business has been
successfully established in Ontario.
