Visitor Visa

A foreign national required to obtain a visitor visa to enter Canada if they are from a country requiring a Visa. This type of visa is also called as Temporary Resident Visa. Temporary residents are foreign nationals who are permitted to enter and remain in Canada for a specified period of time, but who must leave by the end of the period authorized for their stay.

Super Visa

The parent and grandparent supervise was created to assist families with the lengthy sponsorship processing times for permanent residence. The Super Visa allows for the family members to be reunited for a longer period. With a Super Visa, the foreign national is allowed to stay for up to two years at a time without the need to renew the TRV and may re enter Canada multiple times over a ten-year period (the time period for which super visa is valid).

Be a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada

Minimum Income

Establish that he/she meets a minimum income threshold

Medical Examination

Undergo a medical examination and purchase private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that is valid for at least one year from the date of entry. The medical insurance must contain the minimum coverage of Cdn $100,000 for healthcare, hospitalization and repatriation.

Financial Support

Provide a written communication of financial support that sets out the living arrangements, care and support for the duration of the parent’s or grandparent’s stay in Canada.
